3 axis gimbal stabilizer

3 axis gimbal stabilizer

$80.00
  • Three motors: Each motor is responsible for stabilizing the camera along one of three axes: pitch, roll, and yaw.
  • Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU): Composed of gyroscopes and accelerometers, the IMU detects and measures any unwanted movement, vibration, or shake.
  • Controller: This circuit board processes the data from the IMU using special algorithms and instantly commands the motors to move the camera in the opposite direction. This happens multiple times per second, canceling out the operator's movement.

The three axes of stabilization
The three axes provide stability in every direction, which is why 3-axis gimbals are preferred over 2-axis models for the smoothest results.
  • Pitch (Tilt): Controls the camera's up-and-down movement, useful for tracking a subject moving vertically, like climbing stairs.
  • Roll: Controls the camera's horizontal rotation, keeping the horizon level even if the operator tilts their wrist.
  • Yaw (Pan): Controls the camera's side-to-side movement, allowing for a smooth left-to-right or right-to-left pan.

Balancing the gimbal
Before use, a gimbal must be balanced correctly, as powering it on unbalanced can damage the motors. You mount your camera or smartphone and adjust the arms for each of the three axes until the device remains steady and level on its own. Only after achieving a static balance should you turn on the gimbal, at which point the motors take over for dynamic stabilization.

Applications of 3-axis gimbals
Gimbals are used by a wide range of content creators to elevate the quality of their footage.
  • Videographers and filmmakers: Achieve smooth, cinematic tracking shots, pans, and crane-style movements with professional polish.
  • Drone users: High-performance gimbals are essential for keeping a camera steady on a drone, compensating for wind and other in-flight movements to capture fluid aerial video.
  • Vloggers and mobile journalists: Smartphone gimbals allow users to create high-quality, stable content for social media and blogs
