How to set up the TD-W8961N
  1. Connect the hardware:
    • Use the provided splitter to connect the modem router to your phone jack. The splitter has a port for the wall jack, one for a phone, and a "MODEM" port for the router's ADSL port.
    • Plug the power adapter into the router and a power outlet.
  2. Access the setup page:
    • Connect your computer to one of the router's LAN ports with an Ethernet cable, or connect to the default Wi-Fi network listed on the router's sticker.
    • Open a web browser and enter http://tplinkmodem.net or 192.168.1.1 in the address bar.
    • Log in using the default username and password, which is admin for both.
  3. Run the Quick Setup Wizard:
    • The wizard will guide you through the process. You will need to enter the connection details provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP), such as VPI/VCI and your username and password.
  4. Secure your network:
    • During the setup, create a new wireless network name (SSID) and a strong password for your Wi-Fi.
    • For WPS-compatible devices, you can press the WPS button on the router to connect them instantly.
